Weeknight regulars. Things to bake when it rains. That dinner party you keep talking about. Collections give your saved recipes a home inside My Recipes. This one needs a new app release, so it won’t appear in older installed versions yet.
How much flour was that again? We’ve added support for ingredients right under the steps that use them. Amounts follow your serving size, and checking one off checks it off in the main list too. This needs the updated app and recipes imported with those links — older recipes won’t gain them automatically.
Instagram links come in more shapes than they should. We now recognize more of them, including links with a creator’s name in the path. Social video downloads got another round of fixes, and links you tap in the in-app browser stay there instead of whisking you into another app.
Heated’s layouts now make better use of wider screens. Recipes can put ingredients and instructions side by side, and cards, feeds, and profiles adapt to the room they have. The new iPad and rotation support needs an updated app build.
Getting started now means saving something you actually want to cook. Choose an app, follow a floating share guide, and bring a recipe back to Heated. Your recipe and setup answers stay with you through sign-up, even if you need to step away.
Sign-in, onboarding, and subscription screens now follow your light or dark theme. We cleaned up the tutorials and made the text and buttons easier to read along the way. Getting into Heated should feel like part of Heated.
Our Privacy Policy and Terms now have their own pages, with links from the website, Settings, and subscription screens. They spell out how Heated handles recipes, sharing, and account data — somewhere you can actually find them.
Pick a few saved recipes, set your portions, and build a grocery list from the lot. Your plan stays at the top of My Recipes, so “what are we cooking?” has an answer. Meal planning is rolling out alongside the grocery list.
Change of dinner plans? Manage recipes from your grocery list to adjust portions or remove a recipe’s ingredients. Ingredients shared with other recipes keep the amounts you still need. You can also clear a meal plan and choose whether its groceries go with it.
Your profile is a cooking journal now. A four-week calendar shows the days you logged a cook, followed by your meals, photos, and notes. No streak to lose. Just a little record of what you’ve been making.
Find a recipe in For You and open the recipe itself before saving. When Heated has already read it, saving keeps that exact recipe — no second trip through the importer. Your library and the bookmark on the feed card catch up right away.
While a recipe is coming in, you’ll see its source image, title, and description when they’re available. Tap an active import to reopen its progress, even after restarting the app. You can also tap the source preview to take another look at the original.
Share a public Facebook Reel to Heated and we’ll look for the recipe in its caption, linked recipe, and video. The original post and creator come along for the ride. Private posts and Reels that require a login aren’t supported.
We tightened up Instagram and TikTok importing, from recognizing shared links to recovering when a video download fails. When an import needs the in-app browser, you can get back to that step from its progress card.
There’s a proper password reset flow now. Request an email, follow the link, and set a new password in Heated. We also fixed our emails getting hard to read when Gmail flips into dark mode.
Hitting your import limit used to look like a broken recipe. Now the message tells you you’ve reached the limit, instead of sending you back to retry the same thing. Multi-image social posts and TikTok video handling got fixes too.
We rebuilt how recipes get into Heated — and it's starting to roll out. One import screen for everything: paste a link, pick photos, or drop in a video. Then watch each import progress live in your library, with retry, cancel, and dismiss right where you'd want them. It's rolling out gradually, so nothing breaks mid-dinner.
Recipes you save are now indexed by what they are, not just what they're called. Nothing looks different yet — this is the foundation for finding "that tomato pasta thing from March" without remembering its name.
The final stage of our profile privacy work is live. Your account data — email, settings, all of it — is readable by exactly one person: you. Everyone else sees your username, display name, and avatar. That's it.
The biggest push since launch: recipe importing rebuilt from scratch to be dramatically more reliable. Imports survive network drops and app closes instead of getting stuck forever. And the AI plays by a new rule — every ingredient, step, and time has to come from the actual source. If it can't back it up, it doesn't make it up.
Import a recipe that's already in Heated and you get it back instantly now. We recognize it behind short links, redirects, and caption links too — so the same recipe can't sneak in twice under different URLs.
Logging a cook is faster and cleaner. Give it a title, jot a note, add photos if you feel like it — done. Cooks without photos show up as compact cards with the recipe's thumbnail, so your feed reads like a cooking diary, not a form.
We audited the whole system and tightened everything we found. Internal machinery locked behind the server, admin tools pulled fully out of reach, and profile data trimmed so every part of the app sees only what it actually needs.
A completely new onboarding flow before sign-up. Tell us your goals and where you find recipes, then learn to save from social media, the web, and your camera roll with hands-on tutorials.
Large videos from your camera roll now shrink on-device before upload, so imports are faster and lighter on data. HEIC photos just work. The import modal shows real progress.
Share a photo or video from your camera roll to Heated and we'll pull out the recipe. A progress modal keeps you posted while it processes, then drops you into your library when it's done.
Share a TikTok recipe video to Heated and we'll extract the recipe — from the linked recipe in the caption when there is one, or straight from the video itself. Works with every TikTok link format, short links included.
Share a Pinterest pin to Heated and we'll follow it to the original recipe and save it to your library — with full Pinterest attribution. Every pin format works: standard pins, country domains, and pin.it short links.
Your saved recipes are now indexed in iOS Spotlight. Search from the home screen and tap to jump straight to the recipe in Heated. The index stays in sync as you save and remove recipes, and clears on sign-out.
Heated now shows up in the actions list in the share sheet — not just the app icon row. Tap "Save to Heated" from Safari, NYT Cooking, or any app that shares a link. Apps that share links as plain text (looking at you, NYT) work now too.
The My Recipes empty state and the how-to accordions were stuck in dark mode. Not anymore — everything follows your system theme now.
Email confirmation now uses a six-digit code instead of a magic link — faster, and it works even when your mail app is being difficult. Session security got tightened behind the scenes too.
Add ingredients from any recipe straight to a grocery list, grouped by aisle so your list is already in store order. Long-press any item to edit, move it, or delete it. Rolling out gradually.
Long-press got good. Recipe cards, grocery items, and the grocery list header all use real native context menus now — the blurred iOS kind, with a proper Android fallback.
Recipe images load faster now — we prepare every size up front instead of resizing on the fly. Instagram credit shows consistently everywhere, including the web recipe page, and shared recipe images never expire.
Instagram imports now run entirely on our side — share the post and walk away. Recipes show up in your library right away, even while the full extraction is still finishing.
When an Instagram caption links to the actual recipe, we now grab it directly — no AI needed. Those imports finish in seconds and come through word-for-word accurate.
Recipe text and feed section headers no longer show raw & and friends. Skeleton loading rows in the feed are spaced correctly now too.
New users walk through a four-screen onboarding: what Heated is, where you find recipes, how you cook, and a step-by-step guide to saving your first one. Share a recipe link into Heated mid-onboarding and it completes itself so you don't get stuck.
The For You feed shows helpful cards now — tips and pointers you can dismiss or snooze. Default feeds got smarter too, so day one doesn't feel empty.
When a shared post links to the actual recipe, we now grab it directly on your phone — instant save, perfect accuracy, no AI wait.
Android got proper safe area handling and toolbar buttons on profile screens. Headers are solid where they should be and blurred on the feed. Google sign-in applies your profile picture automatically. Feeds behind redirects load correctly now.
Native sign-in with Apple and Google. Tap a button, get in. New users pick a username and display name on one profile screen — same flow whether you signed up with email, Apple, or Google. Password managers autofill properly on sign-in and sign-up.
When you try to import from a site we can't parse yet, you now see the site's icon and name instead of a generic error. Tap "I want this" to vote — the most-requested sites go to the top of our list.
When a recipe was imported from Instagram, the recipe detail screen now shows an attribution card at the bottom with the original reel thumbnail, username, and caption. Tap the thumbnail to open the post in Instagram, the username to visit their profile, or the caption to expand the full original text.
Share an Instagram link to Heated and we'll pull the recipe automatically. If a post needs a login, an in-app browser opens so you can grab it yourself with one tap. Rolling out gradually.
One consistent recipe view everywhere — detail, preview, and feed. Save and remove work how you'd expect. We also added ingredient parsing and scaling — pick a serving size and the amounts adjust. Check off ingredients as you go.
The feed now finds new recipes from the sites you actually save from and surfaces them for you. No algorithm picking for you. Just more of the stuff you already trust.
You can leave a comment on someone's cook now. They get a push notification. The input slides up with the keyboard and the scroll view adjusts so nothing gets buried.
Full recipe system from scratch. Browse any recipe site in-app and we'll detect the recipe automatically. Save it to your library. View the detail. Link it to a cook. The browser got a Liquid Glass toolbar redesign too.
heatedsocialclub.com went live — with recipe share pages, so when you share a Heated link, people see the actual recipe. Universal links, QR codes, and share intent — URLs from other apps land directly in Heated.
Everything started here. Sign in, feed, cook logging with photo upload, find friends, profiles, kudos. Day one.
Heated Social Club got its name. Push notifications arrived. Cooks can have multiple photos now. Link preview cards show up in the log form and feed. The app started feeling like the real thing.
The feed and profile screens load as you scroll instead of pulling everything at once. Cook detail view, settings screen, and edit profile rounded out the core.
